    About the Department     

Being a recognized leader of TPU in computer systems development, Department of Control Systems Optimization trains specialists in the areas of informatics and computing and economics. We award degrees in Automated systems software, Applied mathematics (in economics), Information systems in business, System analysis and information data processing (in industry) and Mathematical software for computers, complexes and networks. Our annual profit varies between 3 and 6 million rubles.

The Department’s scientific work resulted in 78 PhD and 5 Doctoral theses. 18 monographs, over 1200 articles and reports, 28 editions of Kibernetica and VUZ (Cybernetics and Institution of higher education), a scientific journal, were published by the department. Our staff holds 10 medals by Exhibition of National Economy Achievements, including 3 golden. 5 State award winners work at the Department. In 2005 the Department rated first among issuing departments at TPU.

Department of Control Systems Optimization has over a 40-year experience of training specialists in Information Technology, applied mathematics in economics, information management, and bank information systems.

    • 05.13.11 Mathematical software for computers, complexes and networks

The teaching staff of the Department of Control Systems Optimization includes 6 Ds.Sc., 17 Ph.Ds., 3 senior lecturers, 2 engineers and 2 software developers. The Department offers post-graduate programs and is currently training 20 post-graduate students. Many talented students are being trained by the Department who seek scientific and professional success. Every year many students win awards of the RF Ministry of Education and are certified by steering committees of scientific competitions and seminars. .
High level and innovative character of our programs are ensured by:
  1. International accreditation of our basic programs, such as Computer Science (GATE, USA) and Computer Engineering (CEAB, Canada);
  2. The National Quality Assurance (NQA, UK) Certificate of compliance of the Quality Management System of Computer Science and Engineering Faculty;
  3. Modernization of Master programs in line with competence building approach;.
  4. Advanced hard- and software and methodical support.

The Department’s laboratory facilities include 5 computer classrooms that have Internet access and are equipped with advanced hard- and software.

Technical area and software systems have been completely re-equipped in the framework of an innovation program, including 50 workstations that have been established on the base of dual core processors.

The following licensed software is used in trainings and scientific researches:

  1. I. Basic system and service software: Windows 2003 Server Std, Windows XP Professional, MS Office 2003 Professional, WinRAR, TheBat, Total Commander, Nero 7 Gold, Nod32 Enterprise Edition.
  2. II. Design and development tools: MS Project Professional 2003 Win32 Russian, Audit Expert 3, AllFusion Process Modeler, AllFusion ERwin Data Modeler, Borland Developer Studio 2006 Professional и др. III.
  3. III.DBMS: Oracle Database Standard Edition 10g, MS SQL Server 2008, MS Access 2003.
The Department houses 3 advanced scientific laboratories and a computer-aided multimedia lecture room that sits 50 students. Master students also have access to the super computer at Cybernetic Center, TPU.
