In 1992 the Department of Measuring Technique and Instruments started to provide multilevel professional education for full-time and part time students. The department also provides engineering training for part time students in the Institute of Distance Education in TPU..

Bachelor in 200100 "Instrument Making" direction is the person that receives on the basis of incomplete higher education general technical and special knowledge sufficient to work in management, marketing, teaching in institutions of primary and secondary vocational education and insufficient to perform independent project or research.

Engineer in 200106 "Information and Measurement Technologies and Technique" direction is the person proficient in system of special knowledge and methodology of engineering activity, enough for projecting, constructing, and exploitation in the field of Information and Measurement Technologies and Techniques.

Master in programs 200100.05 "Information and Measurement Technology" and 200100.24 "Measuring Technique and Instruments and Non-destructive Testing Techniques" in “Instrument Making” direction is the person that receives on the basis of full higher education special knowledge and methodology of engineering and scientific research activity enough for carrying out independent innovation projects and researches as well as for teaching in institutions of higher education.

During studying process students receive thorough training on Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Computing and etc. Optionally, students may receive special training on Foreign Language and Management. Students are able to carry out a research work at the department and in the Scientific Research Institute of Introscopy. After graduation, young professionals are sent to work in factories, research organizations and educational institutions under contracts concluded for specific training. Those who wish (under the recommendation of the Academic Council faculty) are able to continue their education in graduate and doctoral studies at the Faculty of Electrical scientific directions of the department.

Among the Faculty graduates are those who works:

  • at instrument making enterprises focusing on developing and producing measurement devices;
  • in various branches of industry, at medical establishments, in the field of geology, in service sector, that is, where means of measuring, monitoring and diagnostics are applied;
  • in the field of metrology, standardization and certification.

200100.05 Measurement Information Technology

Aim of the program is training for various types of activities, which require thorough fundamental and professional preparation, primarily to scientific and research work.

Area of professional activity involves research, design and technologies directed at the development of theory, creation and application of devices and systems for obtaining, registration and processing of information about environment, biological and technical objects.

Objects of graduates professional activity are following: electronics and mechanical, magnetic, electromagnetic, acoustic and other methods, devices, systems, complexes and technology of elements, devices and systems production, computer software and information and measurement technique of designing and development in instrument making.

200100.24 Information and Measurement Techniques and Technologies of Non-destructive Testing

Aim of the program is training of specialists, able to perform:

  • design and application of methods and means of receiving of measurement information about environment, biological and technical objects using physical fields different in their nature;
