Mr. Verigin Dan is currently a University instructor in Nuclear Physics and Technology at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), department of Applied Physics. Originally from a physics, Mr. Verigin has an engineering degree in Physics of Atomic Nuclei and Particles (TPU, Russia). The diploma was focused on the investigation of Cherenkov radiation generated by relativistic electrons in the x-ray region of wavelengths.

Mr. Verigin has expertise in the fields of particles and radiation interactions with matter, accelerator physics, solid state physics and generation of polarization radiation. His main research focuses on developing sources of Terahertz and microwave radiation based on compact accelerators. Particular research interests include:

• generation of polarization radiation by relativistic electrons;

• compact electron accelerators;

• resonators for microwave and terahertz radiation.

These interests are reflected in his recent and ongoing research collaboration with High Energy Accelerators Research Organization (KEK) in Tsukuba, Japan.

Mr. Verigin delivers courses to the students of IPT:

• solid state physics

• physics of plasma

• professional training in English

• experimental methods of Nuclear Research

Also Mr. Verigin is responsible for coordination of development of syllabuses and curriculae of master and bachelor programs. From 2013 Mr. Verigin organizes professional training in Radiation Safety.
