Kunashenko Yuri Petrovich was born in 1958 in the city of Norilsk. He graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Tomsk State University in 1982 . In 1989 he defended his thesis. In the period from 1993 to 1994 he passed scientific internship in Trondheim (Norway) headed by Professor Olsen. In 2000 he defended his doctoral thesis.
